Ural Rakhimov was bornon 13 December 1961 in Russia. Oil magnate cashed out last year. Sold remaining shares in several oil refineries to billionaire Vladimir Yevtushenkov, who had already purchased a stake in 2005. Only son of Murtaza Rakhimov, the "permanent president" of Bashkortostan, an industrial autonomous republic within the Russian Federation. Graduated from Ufa Oil Institute, then continued his education in France. In 1990s worked in the republic's oil and energy industry. In the next 10 years set up a company called Bashkiria Capital and became owner of nearly all of the republic's oil-production and processing companies.
