Rosalia Mera was bornon 28 January 1944 in Spain. Mera is now the wealthiest self-made woman on the planet, thanks in part to a 50% jump this past year in the value of Inditex, the fashion retailer she co-founded with her ex-husband Amancio Ortega, the world's No. 3 richest man. The company denies all claims.
Inditex confirmed Mera's death on 16 August 2013, stating "The group wishes to send its sincere condolences to her loved ones and friends at this extremely difficult time, after the loss of a person who contributed so much to the origins and development of the company
