Paul Ramsay was bornon 1936 in Australia. Paul Ramsey, founder of Ramsay Health Care died at his home in Bowral after suffering from a heart attack on May 1, 2014. Ramsay was 78 years old. He founded Ramsay Health Care in 1964 with a psychiatric hospital in Sydney and the group went on to become the biggest hospital group in Australia at the time of his death, boasting 151 hospitals across the world and 30,000 employees. Ramsay also held a major stake in regional TV and radio broadcaster Prime Media and digital advertising firm AdStream. His private investment firm, Paul Ramsay Group, owned a stake in a Louisiana plantation mansion. Ramsay was conferred an Officer of the Order of Australia in June 2002. According to a statement made by Ramsay Health Care, the bulk of Ramsay's estate would benefit the Australian community through the Paul Ramsay Foundation.
