Albeit a late entry into the sport, he has won over 85 international tournaments including two ‘The Open Championship’. He has an outstanding record of holding the numero uno position in the ‘Official World Golf Ranking’ for a consecutive period of 331 weeks. His vigorous golfing style, physical built, blond hair added with the local coastal animal of his birthplace, the shark, earned him the epithet, ‘The Great White Shark’. He is an equally prolific world-class entrepreneur known for his high spirit and vigour in the boardroom as his expertise in golf. His business venture ‘Great White Shark Enterprises’, a multinational corporation with diversified portfolio consists of around twenty different businesses including event management, golf course design and consumer products among others. At present he is the Chairman and CEO of the multinational corporation. In 2001, he was enlisted in the ‘World Golf Hall of Fame’. He served as Captain of the ‘International Team’ at the ‘Presidents Cup’ twice in 2009 and 2011.
