Gerard Butler was bornon 13 November 1969 in Paisley, Scotland, Scottish. With Greek God looks and a charming aura, Gerard Butler dedicated seven years of his life studying law, before he chose to become an actor. Butler was passionate about movies from his younger days and was an enthusiastic movie goer and member of the Scottish Youth Theatre group. After graduating in law, he was not sure if law was what he wanted to do and thus, relocated to London to pursue his dream of becoming famous. He made his stage appearance in the Shakespeare tragedy, ‘Coriolanus’, while hunting for movie roles. He rose to fame after he played the legendary role of ‘The Phantom’ in the Academy Award nominated film, ‘The Phantom of the Opera’. He is, however, best known for his role as ‘King Leonidas of Sparta’ in ‘300’, a role that gave him immense recognition in Hollywood. This Scotland-born actor has also produced movies and appeared on television. A lesser-known fact is that he was a member of a rock band, before he took up acting professionally.
