Francesco Saverio Salini was born in Italy. Francesco Saverio Salini joins the Forbes Billionaires ranks for the first time this year. He holds a 39% stake worth $1.1 billion (775 million euros) in Salini Impregilo, a massive Italian-based construction company that builds infrastructure all over the world. The company has put up dams, airports, railroads and power plants in nearly every country on the planet. His father started the business in 1936 and his brother Simonpietro, also new to the billionaires list this year, holds a 44% stake. The brothers own a private real estate company called Zeis Srl together. Neither one remains involved in daily operations. Francesco Saverio's son Simon Pietro (who shares a similar name with his uncle) is CEO of the real estate business, and Simonpietro's son Pietro heads Salini Impregilo.
