David Consunji was bornon 18 October 1921 in Philippines. David Consunji founded construction company DMCI in 1954. The firm has since diversified into power generation, real estate and infrastructure. Consunji stepped down as Chairman in 2014. His son Isidro heads DMCI Holdings and Semirara. He shares his fortune with his children. A former concrete inspector, Consunji also has stakes in the country's largest coal miner, listed subsidiary, Semirara Mining. He served as the secretary of the Department of Public Works, Transportation and Communications during the Marcos administration from 1970 to 1975.
